By far the most authentic sushi that is not strictly omakase in NYC. Fresh sushi imported from Japan, the Hotate (scallop) was excellent and the O Toro was fatty and succulent. Very fresh and authentic sushi experience. Wasabi under the fish, glossy and oily with the right amount of fat from the fish. Couldn’t recommend this spot enough!

The most authentic top quality sushi I’ve ever had. I understand why they are in business so long! The fatty tuna was buttery and soft and the wasabi was legit wasabi! Ken was a great help with choosing our entrees! Will be coming back for sure

I recently visited Hatsuhana, and it was a great experience. The sushi was delicious, very fresh, and beautifully prepared. All the dishes we tried were excellent. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The pricing is also very reasonable for the quality you get, and overall it is not very expensive by New York standards. Definitely a great choice for sushi in Manhattan.

This was the most authentic Japanese dining experience I’ve had in New York City—it genuinely felt like being transported back to Japan. The sushi was exceptionally fresh, inventive, and beautifully executed. The atmosphere was equally impressive, closely resembling a traditional Japanese restaurant, further enhanced by staff who primarily spoke Japanese. A standout detail was the presentation of the sushi over various types of seaweed, adding both flavor and a thoughtful touch. We ordered the miso cod appetizer, which was enjoyable, though the portion size felt small relative to the price, and I likely wouldn’t order it again. Overall, the quality of the fish and the immersive atmosphere made for a memorable and enjoyable experience. The restaurant was quite busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a Japanese culinary experience.
